I was born with extremely sensitive skin, and have struggled with bizarre, unusual reactions to products my entire life. While "most people" don't have these issues, it took my almost half a century to accept that I am not most people. If you stuggle similarly, this is the place for you.
Not only is my skin sensitive, Ehler-Danos Syndrome, a connective tissue disorder, runs in my family. This means that somehow, beneath the surface, my skin literally doesn't function as medically expected. This is more complicated than "knowing your skin type." This means, a lifetime of trial and error, researching every single ingredient in things, and learning from it all. I am not licensed in any way, and have no degree to grant me any authority on the topic. That said, I have spent an inordinate amount of time reading studies in the National Institutes of Health and other trustworthy sources just for fun. An accidental skin care nerd if you will. One tired of reading through too many comments sections to glean information that might help me, someone with atypical skin. Not the skin of someone who is sent boxes of products they try for a week, often for free, and then write a review of online.
